The Polo Lounge serves beers, wines and spirits as well as a selection of pub meals. They also provide a range of entertainment including regular DJs. A function room is available for private hire.
This is a really nicely laid out bar. However, the atmosphere is absolutely dire. Most customers seem to have a serious chip on their shoulders or are just downright rude. Wednesday nights is to be avoided at all costs - way too few staff considering how busy it gets - getting a drink can easily turn into a long drawn out chore. Much better for late evenings - then move on.
This gay bar and club is an excellent place to party into the wee hours. The drinks are expensive enough to keep the trash out and cheap enough if you have a decent job. The night club part downstairs is like a sauna, its so warm but full of the best lokoing people in the city. With bangin tunes and sweaty bodies .. who could ask for more. The bar upstairs has somethin of a gentleman's club feel, grand and spendid.
The Polo Lounge is "undeniably the busiest and best gay club in Scotland" - I used to come here with my gay flatmate when I was a student, and popped back in during a recent trip to Glasgow to see how the old place has changed... Thankfully not too much!It is still eclecticly decked out, with four different area - the tops bar (which looked like is has pool tables now??!) the ground floor - big bar and comfy seating, and two dance areas. The music was fab - not too cheesy when I was there, although that may have changed as the night progressed!!
