when you consider the 14 bedded huge dorms at 4 pounds more than this ace place wher the dorms are just 8 beds and the price within the backpackers budget, thenthe best hostels is amust stay over the more expensive eurohostel{the one with 14 bedded dorms.} This place opposite the main city library has nice comfortable lounges ,sufficient kitchen space and showers available to everyone with instant hot water. It is near kelvingrove park and gallery, the university with its great free museum and gallery and the exhibition centre, science centre, and loads of pubs with live music in this student quarter. Staff are friendly and fun, know there city and have free passes for the best clubs. The way it is set up you meet a lot of people.

Going down to breakfast you're overwhelmed by mint, green, cranberry and a dozen other types of tea. Likewise the ground coffe has several flavours,as well as regular but the point is for a hostel these choices epitomise the ethos of the management and it is reflected in every sphere. If you want a map of the car hire places second hand viynl shops, bookshops , reception has it along with nightlife, theatres etc. The whats on board is updated daily and it is just so easy to stay there. The free internet and wifi, when it works was really well appreciated. Thanks will stay again.

run by travellers for travellers it has a good international vibe, fun events and lots of big showers so you dont have to q. These showers are instant electric and so there is always hot water. The lounges are filled with big comfy sofas and there are two lounges which have sky.tv and dvd's casa de casa. also has interesting decor exhibitions france scotland rennie macintosh and the burrell art collection is in one room. i have returned here and will again.
With Edinburgh cramming 16 to 30 people into a dorm it was refreshing to arrive in a well appointed 6 bedded dorm in a hostel designed for comfort rather than capacity. A real style and comfort that is a welcome find.Good breakfast, buffet style.

Read a lot of good reviews about this place on quality sites like virtualtourist and have to say was real impressed, although it proved so popular it has sinced moved to 56 Berkeley street which are much bigger premises. Just look for the blue floodlights on the right of the street.
