• The best....

  Hidden behind a nondscript doorway halfway down a street straight out of The Third Man , Berkeley 2 is , by some distance , the finest rehearsal facilitiy in Scotland's music capital..(Edinburgh..?...never heard of it..).Its the details that make this place.There's plenty of space , good lounge for , well , lounging in , quality gear that's looked after and properly maintained ,air conditioning (!!) which they're not afraid to use , its CLEAN (a detail that too many 'studios' overlook) , and it has excellent professional staff who know what they're about , and dont make you feel like an idiot if you dont share their knowledge.All overseen by a very hands-on owner who takes an interest in his customers , its no accident that this is where the professionals go to polish their chops.Oh , and they've just opened an annexe a couple of blocks away which is just as good , if not better.First choice every time , and deservedly so.

• Best Rehearsal facilities in Scotland?

  Definitley the best rehearsal studios I have ever used. Berkeley 2 in Washington St has the best facilities and equipment. It contains seven state of the art rehearsal rooms, all equiped with Marshall Stack amps, and bass amps as well as mini disc recording capabilities. Lots of famous acts such as Simple Minds, Idlewild, Mull Historical Society amongst others use Berkeley on a regular basis, so if its good enough for them then its good enough for me.
