I'm an avid fan of Indian quisine, having dined at (probably) the vast majority of restaurants in Glasgow over the last ten years. But I have to say, the Turban dissapoints. First of all, the waiters got our drink order wrong and had to bring new ones to the table - only a minor setback, however. After that, I found the starter poppadoms and pakora very soggy and stale tasting, as if they'd been left out. For the main course I chose a rogan josh curry, which was fairly good although lacked some of the heat that "normal" curries should really deliver - it was very mild. The service was acceptable if not a bit unfriendly - none of the staff really took time to talk to customers, just doing their jobs and nothing more. I might give this place another chance one day but for now, I'd recommend other places nearer the city centre for better quality food, at least.
One of the best curry houses in Glasgow, it's in the suburb of Giffnock. Well worth travelling out of the city for with a big carpark opposite, it's right at Giffnock train station if you want a drink too. I recommed the Tikka Sizzler dishes to anyone. Wine by the glass is nice and Cobra on tap, what more could you want?! It's reasonably priced, the staff are very friendly and it's got nice modern decor. Not to be confused with the NEW Turban Tandoori (also in Giffnock).
