Brief business description

TGI Fridays is a large American chain of restaurants with predictably huge portions of American food, energetic waiting staff and a 'bar and grill' interior - great fun for kids.

  • 4 Cocktail Time!

TGI's is a chain restaurant with branches all over the place, and the Glasgow restaurant pretty much conforms with the way they are nation (world?) wide. I love TGI's. It's always really busy but this just gives it a great lively atmosphere. The menu is huge and it usually takes me a fair while to decide. My favourite part of eating here is actually the drinking - their cocktail menu is fantastic and their Ultimate cocktails are huge. You'll need both hands to pick up the glass! The waiting staff are always really friendly (in keeping with the American theme) and service is quick.

  • 2 TGI Fridays

After my husband raving for years how good TGI Fridays burgers were (which he tried in a branch in another city) one day we finally decided to visit this branch to test this out myself. I was personally not so impressed. Although the staff were very helpful and friendly the food in my opinion wasn't that great - standard burger bar stuff only much more expensive. Hubby did also say that it wasn't that good this time around. We had to wait quite a while for it to arrive and then the food was not very hot. It was very busy when we visited so we must be in minority but we won't be going back again.

  • 4 Totally American!

This place is great. Feels like you've stepped into a real, genuine American diner. OK, so the menu choice isn't that exciting (steaks, chicken, burgers) but the dishes tase fab. American-sized portions too, so great value for money. The starters are a meal in themselves - I ordered breaded mushrooms. Now, normlly you'd get about 6 or 7 in a starter portion - these came in a basket, filled to the brim. There must've been about 40 of them! More than enough to share. The chips are fab - they put some kind of coating on them - they taste almost poeppery - love them! Although the staff are a bit 'cheesy' (trying a bit too hard to be American I think!) they're helpful and friendly. All round, TGIs is a great place to eat.

  • 3 If you like your cocktails..

If you like your cocktails and steaks then TGIs is the place to go. They have these things called the Ultimate Cocktails, which are like your normal ones, except supersized. They are a swimming pool of alcoholic decadence. Then there are the steaks. Whoever invented Jack Daniels sauce is a genius. It goes amazingly well with steaks, or the big chips that you get with your meal. Let's be honest, this isn't haute cusinine, this is big, bold, brash, big portioned American food for when you are in the mood for that sort of thing. The desserts are scrumptious as well.

  • 5 For Everyday not just Friday

Great food, even better cocktails and a fab atmosphere. Just what you need for a night out with friends. Can get very busy but you can put your name on the list at the door and come back or wait at the bar (for estra cocktails!!) Register on their website and on your birthday they will email you offers. They were emailing BOGOF offers for a while but they seem to have stopped. Prices can be expensive but you'll be so stuffed when you leave you won't want to eat for a week!!

  • 5 Utterly American

This is the place to go on a Friday or Saturday night. Just book a table well before! It's totally American, with decent sized portions of both food and booze! Check out their website for menus and some vouchers, etc. but it's really just the staple American bar food - steaks, onion rings, fries and ribs. The staff can sometimes be seen wearing ridiculous party hats or outfits, which really brightens up your night out if you're also taking in a few cocktails. THe music is also predictably good and old fashioned - lots of western classics and jazzy Sinatra tunes, as well as branches of more modern jazy rock. If you're coming here, I'd absolutely recommend you to check out the excellent cocktail menu, and avoid the standard old booze. It'll make all the difference, and guarentee you a great time.

  • 5 Great Food

TGI Friday's is located on Buchanan Street near the Central Station. This restaurant is known for its quirky American atmosphere and it should also be known because the food is great. There's something on the menu for everyone. They have a great mix of American, Italian, and Mexican dishes. The prices are reasonable as well, with a main course coming out round £9. They often have a deal on the go Monday-Thursday "2 Courses for £9.99." If you order a main entree off the select menu then you can get either an appetizer or dessert all for £9.99. The staff are always friendly and quick which is a plus. All the food I've had at the restaurant has been delicious. The only disadvantage is at dinner times there may be a wait of 20-30 minutes so make sure you get there early, otherwise you can hang out in the bar until a table is ready.

  • 3 Big cocktails good steaks

Ok it is a chain restaurant but that doesn't make it all bad. TGIs has good American diner type food. With tasty wings and ribs to steaks of all sizes. You can make it as cheap or expensive as you like here so good if you are out with a group of friends with a variety of budgets. They also do a wide range of cocktails. These come in different sizes one of which is the size of a small goldfish bowl and will make it hard for you to see straight when you leave. Go for anything with Jack Daniels sauce and have a cocktail for a fun night out.
