This was my local for years too and to be honest it's about the best Chinese takeaway I've ever had. The staff are friendly and reliable and the food's consistently good. The only thing is if you go for a meal in the restaurant as I have a few times it's always dead. There's little or no atmosphere and no licence which isn't essential but always a bonus.
Glasgow is the city of Indian restaurants, so to find a half-decent chinese is no easy task. The Lemon tree was my local for many years and to be honest, it's OK. It's certainly not anything above average however, although on the plus side it is extremely cheap compared to other takeaways/restaurants. Give the Chicken Fried rice a try as it's quite tasty.

Living nearby I always bought my takeaway chinese from The Lemon Tree so we decided to visit the source. The food as always was excellent, much more tasty than you would expect from a local in Glasgow, just as I expected. What I didn't expect was the fact that it didn't serve alcohol. No licence. This did hamper the experience a little and it might have explained why we were the only ones dining there. This is a shame because it does well with its food. Maybe a place for the tee totallers perhaps! Inside it is clean and comfortable and a pleasant place to eat a meal.
