My initial consultation with Dr Mei was very comprehensive. He asked so many questions about my health! I think that is why I'm getting such wonderful results. My arthritis pain is so much better right after the first two treatments of Acupuncture and Cupping Massage and I love coming for my treatments. I get such personal and attentive care, it's one of the best treatments I've ever had.
I went at oriental herbs in Glasgow, Dumbarton Rd, for a tuina massage, but I wasn't happy at all. I know acupuncture, acupressure and tuina massage very well, because my best friend is a Chinese acupuncture doctor in London. The acupressure massage and the tuina massage in Oriental herbs in Dumbarton rd, was incomplete and not enough. I told the doctor I had a back pain, and he gave me a massage only focusing in the back and not all body too, like a proper tuina and acupressure massage should be. In fact a real, good tuina and acupressure masage shuld be done in all body not only in one particular painful part. So the energy of yin and yang will be distributed in all body giving at the same time a general and focus benefit to the patient. And it should be done with a medium touch not too strong not too soft. But the doctor in Dumbarton rd only focused on my back, doing the massage in a very disorientated way, without following a particular direction. His touch was too much soft and too delicate. He didn't touch the chakras (or the dantian)of my head that is very important during the tuina massage, he didn't massage the meridian of my legs, or my face, or my stomach at all. At the end my yin and yang energy were disturbed, and I felt a bit confused. The energy wasn't distributed int he proper way. I had the impression that the tuina massage was incomplete and that need it long time and more money before fixing the problem.
The rather modest frontage conceals an elegant interior, with a good selection of teas and tea-making equipment. Well worth a visit for the friendly welcome, and just round the corner from Partick's transport hub, with bus, train and subway links.
